Peace. I am Mohamad A. Almakky, a Clinical Psychology Doctoral Practicum Trainee at Gabriel Counseling Services, Inc. As you search for a therapist that is a right fit for you, let me tell you about myself. As I train to become a psychologist, my goal is to help you become the best version of yourself and to overcome your current struggles. I am confident in my ability to work with you collaboratively to achieve your counseling goals and provide therapy that is tailored to your needs. Over the years, I have gained a great multicultural background, and I have a passion for working with adolescents, young adults, and adult individuals, with a focus on the LGBTQ+ community, providing therapy in both English and Arabic languages. My past work experiences in hospital settings, college settings, community mental health, and private practice in both Saudi Arabia and the United States have taught me to integrate what I have learned about education, advocacy, and treatment into my work with students at a university level, and with people who live with mental health issues. I enjoy learning about people and providing Multicultural, Person-Centered, Motivational Interviewing, Gestalt Therapy, and Solution-Focused oriented treatment to those who are struggling with mood disorders such as depression and anxiety, those who have experienced trauma in their life who may have PTSD, and those who would like to have a safe space to talk about their sexuality, especially from the LGBTQ+ community.

I am a Saudi Arabian international doctoral student at the University of Indianapolis (UIndy), Indianapolis, IN, in the Graduate Department of Clinical Psychology. I’m a Behavioral Science Teaching Assistant at King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences in the city of Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, where I was born and raised. My whole life has been dedicated to making a difference in the lives of my clients in both academic and clinical sectors. My energy is focused on acquiring knowledge, and my goal is to be the best version of myself and the best in my field. As such, I’m a member of 26 professional counseling and psychology-related organizations, and I am pursuing a doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology in the United States. Thus far, I hold two master’s degrees, a Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology from UIndy and a Master of Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Kent State University (KSU), Kent, OH.

السلام عليكم. أنا محمد ع. المكي، أخصائي نفسي إكلينيكي دكتوراه متدرب بـ جبريل كاونسيلينج سيرفيسيس، آي ان سي. وأنتم تبحثون عن أخصائي نفسي مناسب لكم، دعوني أخذ الفرصة لأعرف فيها عن نفسي. وأنا أتدرب لأصبح دكتوراً نفسياً عما قريب، هدفي هو مساعدتكم بالقيام بتخطي المشاكل والضغوطات التي تمرون بها حالياً، ولأمكنكم بأن تكونوا على أفضل صورة ممكنة. واثق من أنني سأتمكن بالعمل معكم سوياً للوصول لما تريدون تحقيقه. على مر السنين، اكتسبت خلفية كبيرة في مجال تعدد الثقافات والأعراق، ولدي شغف للعمل مع الأفراد المراهقين والشباب، والكبار مع التركيز على فئة المجتمع الذين ينتمون الى مجموعة الـ(إل جي بي تي كيو+)، أقدم فيها العلاج النفسي باللغتين العربية والإنجليزية. خبرات العمل السابقة لدي في قطاع المستشفيات، عيادات الحرم الجامعي، العيادات الخارجية، والعيادات الخاصة في السعودية وأمريكا، ساعدتني على دمج ما تعلمته عن التعليم، والدعوة الاجتماعية، والعلاج، في عملي مع طلبة المرحلة الجامعية، ومع الأشخاص الذين يعانون من اضطرابات نفسية وسلوكية مختلفة. أستمتع بالتعرف على الناس وتقديم العلاج النفسي بأساليب علاجية مختلفة كالعلاج المتمركز حول العميل، المقابلات التحفيزية، علاج الجشتالت، والتركيز على الحل لأولئك الذين يعانون من اضطرابات مزاجية كالإكتاب والقلق، ولأولئك الذين تعرضوا لصدمات نفسية مثل اضطراب ما بعد الصدمة، ولأولئك الذين يبحثون عن مكان آمن للتحدث عن هويتهم ومشاكلهم الجنسية، بالذات مع مجتمع الـ(إل جي بي تي كيو+).

أنا طالب دكتوراة أجنبي من السعودية بجامعة يونيفيرسيتي أوف إنديانابوليس، بإنديانابوليس، إنديانا، أمريكا، في قسم الدراسات العليا ببرنامج علم النفس الإكلينيكي. أنا معيد علوم سلوكية بجامعة الملك سعود بن عبدالعزيز للعلوم الصحية بمدينة جدة، السعودية، مكان ولادتي ونشأتي. كرست حياتي ووقتي لإحداث فرق في حياة عملائي في كل من القطاعين، الأكاديمي والصحي. طاقتي مكرسة نحو اكتساب المعرفة وهدفي هو أن أكون أفضل نسخة من نفسي، والأفضل في مجالي المهني. مثال على ذلك، أنا حاليًا عضو في أكثر من ٢٦ جمعية احترافية عالمية في مجالات الإرشاد النفسي وعلم النفس، وأعمل على الحصول على درجة الدكتوراه التطبيقية في علم النفس الإكلينيكي في الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية. الى الآن، أنا حاصل على درجتي ماجستير، ماجستير آداب، علم نفس إكلينيكي من جامعة يونيفيرسيتي أوف إنديانابوليس، وماجستير تربية، إرشاد نفسي إكلينيكي من جامعة كنت ستيت يونيفيرستي، بكنت، أوهايو، أمريكا.
