Emylie Yeager Cox, LMHCA

Searching for a new therapist can feel overwhelming. I’m proud of you for prioritizing your mental health, and I’m honored to be considered as part of your journey. As your therapist, I will use evidence-based approaches to help you navigate the issues that brought you to therapy, including anxiety, depression and trauma. Our work together will focus on exploring the aspects of your life to identify patterns, triggers, coping strategies, and strengths. I’ll work to empower you to find your resilience while providing a supportive and compassionate space for growth and discovery.

Hi, I’m Emylie Yeager Cox (she/her), a licensed mental health counselor associate in Indiana. I became a therapist to support individuals and families in achieving their personal and relational goals. Therapy can take many forms—individual therapy for teens or children might focus on communication skills, emotional regulation, executive functioning, or trauma processing. On the other hand, we could work on improving connection, attachment, and shared goals.

I work with children, adolescents, and adults from diverse backgrounds and cultures, and I am proud to offer an inclusive and affirming space for LGBTQIA+ clients. In my practice, I use evidence-based methods like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Motivational Interviewing (MI) and mindfulness to help clients achieve their goals. If you’re curious whether we’d be a good fit, please reach out with any questions. I look forward to working together!

Background

My passion for mental health began during my time as a therapeutic foster parent. I realized that many families lacked adequate mental health support, and I wanted to do more. This experience inspired me to work with children, adolescents and adults.

I earned my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Indiana University Southeast, where I received the Outstanding Student Award for my academic achievements and clinical promise. I completed my internship with a community mental health program providing school-based services for students and families. After graduation, I continued in this role, gaining valuable experience as a full-time licensed therapist.

I am passionate about helping clients and families thrive and am excited to offer flexible evening appointments to accommodate busy schedules. I recently completed Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing, or EMDR, training and am eager to incorporate this powerful intervention into my practice.
